Challenge: Do a singalong to the Anime Word Search Song. This was written with the intent of exposing students to words that are commonly heard in anime -- and casual Japanese conversation in general. I would like you to be aware of them so that you recognize them when you hear them.
Some of them are easily translated to English. Others not so much. They may have many potential translations and/or be used in varying situations. In some cases the word represents a feeling, state, or concept that is somewhat uniquely Japanese.
The best way to learn what these words mean is to see them in action.
Step 1: Embed the words in your memory
Step 2: Watch anime and keep alert for them.
